I need help! (looking for co-posters)
As you all might have noticed there has not been a single post on studio-33 since March 23th. Not that there was that much news to post about, but I've been away from studio-33 altogether for almost two weeks. When I started posting regularly here I had the intention to post atleast one news item a day and I think I can say that I did a good job doing that. However after time I noticed that keeping up a daily blog even about one of my favorite hobby's, BeOS, is pretty hard work. It takes time to go around the various websites, forums, mailinglist and blogs about BeOS daily and writing posts in a non native language. Besides this I've been spending time programming, which is something I like even better than maintaining this website.
I strongly believe that a website (or blog) like studio-33 can only be succesfull if it's updated frequently and I've seen the daily visits drop since the second day without a post. Therefore I'm looking for people who like to write about their beloved operating system(s). I figure that if there are two or three people, including me, doing about three posts a week and maybe an article, review or editorial every few months there is enough content to read for visitors daily. I'm sure that there are more people like me who browse the web daily for interesting BeOS news! On the main studio-33 page there is also the news-submit option, which is unfortunately not being used much.
If you are interested in teaming up with me and hopefully others your contribution is very very welcome! Just drop me an email, the adress is at the bottom of this page. Contributed articles, reviews, editorials and such are also always appreciated much. To be ahead of the question, the adsense revenue (not much at the time) is solely for the costs to hosts all the images displayed on this page, and in the future it will have to pay for professional hosting.
Whats in it for you? Except for eternal fame, posting about news from the BeOS community is a very fun way to keep up with what is going in around our OS. It's also a good way to promote BeOS and offer a service to the existing BeOS users. Besides that, if you have your ideas about what a website like this should offer this is the chance to make them happen, there are a lot of other things that have to be done except for posting news. These could be maintaining a screenshot gallery, providing usefull links or maybe mirroring BeOS specific files like drivers. In the end the Be community is what we make of it.
